“The Five Pillars of Islam and Judaism: An Introduction to Islam and Its Relationship with Judaism” with Professor Reuven Firestone of HUC-JIR, Los Angeles

In addition to learning about the basic tenets of the religion of Islam, this class focuses on the shared religious experiences of Jews and Muslims, comparing the treasures of both religions and how our commonalities may strengthen our relationship.

Professor Firestone is the Regenstein Professor in Medieval Judaism and Islam at HUC-JIR, Affiliate Professor of Religion at the University of Southern California, and the founder of the center for Muslim-Jewish Engagement in Los Angeles.
