We are pleased to invite you to an English-language briefing on Monday, February 1 from 10:00 to 11:30 (EST) on the topic of the vaccination campaign in Israel. The briefing will be presented by Dr. Asher Salmon, Head of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Health, and will be on the record.

As you're aware, Israel is currently among the leaders in the world on percentage of citizens vaccinated, with more than a quarter of the country already having received both doses and about 1 million citizens receiving the second dose.  Infections & hospitalizations have both plummeted.  They are going to share their findings & best practices, which can be relevant to Ohio as Ohio & Israel have similar population numbers.

Dr. Asher Yeshaihu Salmon currently serves as the Head of the Department of International Relations at the Israeli Ministry of Health. He is also a member of the OECD Health Bureau and of the Israeli National Health Council, and is a Focal Point for the WHO. His previous roles include Deputy Director of the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Deputy CEO and Medical Director of the Barzilai Medical Center, and Head of the Oncology Inpatient Ward at the Sharett Institute of Oncology. After studying medicine at the Israel Institute of Technology, Salmon went on to complete a PhD in molecular biology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Salmon also completed his MA in Health Administration summa cum laude in 2010. His key fields of interest include breast cancer, endocrine tumors, cancer genetics, and health economy, and he continues to publish extensively on these topics.
