Giving the Gift of Education and Understanding Every January

Hank Schneider often recounts how his parents met through a fence during the Holocaust. After liberation, they rebuilt their lives in Cincinnati and raised a family grounded in generosity and community.

Those values live on through Hank and his wife Anita along with their children and grandchildren.

Believing deeply that the voices of the past matter, the Schneiders wanted to make a gift they could see at work in their lifetime. As Anita shared, “We have the capacity, but more important than that, we had the desire. We wanted to make some kind of sustainable and formative gift.”

We helped them establish the Anita & Hank Schneider Family Holocaust Remembrance Month initiative, where general admission to the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center is FREE every January, ensuring the critical lessons of the Holocaust remain accessible to all. And right now, those lessons can be enhanced by also touring Auschwitz: Not Long Ago, Not Far Away at the Museum Center, an exhibit supported by us, that digs deep into stories of resilience, incredible loss, and how Cincinnati played a pivotal role in the lives of those that escaped.

This is a legacy of gratitude. A legacy of giving back.

A powerful expression of Jewish values, and a gift to the entire Cincinnati community.

We are deeply grateful to the Schneider family for their extraordinary generosity and commitment to sharing lessons of humanity for generations to come.
