Beautiful Shoes + Philanthropy: Jane Weitzman Coming to Cincinnati April 6

Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati announced that Jane Weitzman will speak at the Mayerson JCC, 7:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday April 6

Jane Weitzman is the former Executive Vice President of Stuart Weitzman, the Founding Vice President of Stuart Weitzman Retail, and the wife of famed shoe designer Stuart Weitzman. She spearheaded philanthropy for the company by generating funds to support breast and ovarian cancer research and awareness.

“Who doesn’t love shoes, dessert, and wine without your spouse? I can’t wait for this fun night—we are expecting over 300 Jewish women,” said Chrissie Blatt, chair of Women’s Philanthropy.

Felicia Zakem, Development Officer for Women’s Philanthropy at the Jewish Federation, is similarly enthusiastic. “This will be a great girls night out. And Jane is so personable. But she is also a woman with a great message: about how important it is for us to continue to give Jewishly, both locally and overseas.” She added, “Jane is really excited to see Cincinnati and wants to tour all of our Jewish sites.”

While having fun and hearing Ms. Weitzman’s message are important, another goal, said Ms. Blatt, is embracing community: “We want this event to bring Jewish women together."

This event supports the Jewish Federation’s 2016 Annual Campaign. Tickets are $36, and a minimum campaign gift of $180 is expected.

Jane Weitzman’s philanthropic efforts were brought to life through innovative charity events in the brand’s stores and on its website such as the Stuart Weitzman Celebrity Breast Cancer Auction. She serves on the executive committee and boards of UJA of Greenwich and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. She is on the Trust Board of Boston Children’s Hospital and the board of the Greenwich JCC. She is also vice president of programming at the Jewish Book Council. Jane and her husband Stuart have two daughters, Elizabeth and Rachael, and a granddaughter, Eva.

Chrissie Blatt is Women’s Philanthropy Chair, Renee Levy is vice chair; committee members are Ali Bernstein, Chrissie Blatt, Fran Coleman, Jan Armstrong Cobb, Lauren Guttman, Renee Levy, Stacey Schimberg, and Tara Vigran.
