JCRC and Israel Center Present: Parents Circle Families Forum

6:30PM - 8:30PM

In the midst of their grief and anger, more than 600 families who have lost loved ones to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are seeking reconciliation over revenge.

The Parents Circle Families Forum (PCFF) brings thousands of these bereaved families together on their personal journeys of reconciliation. It is often raw and always emotional, but out of these interactions, comes change. Not the kind of change that makes headlines, but a more personal and profound shift in perspective.

These bereaved members, armed with the credibility of their loss and the uncommon path they have chosen, have opened a crack in the psyche of a hardened populous. They have begun to stir an awareness about the conflict that transcends history and politics. For many, it is the first time they have seen “the other side” as human.

The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati's Israel Center and Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), along with Entrepreneurs' Organization Cincinnati (EO), will host Rami Elhanan, who lost his daughter, and Mazen Faraj, who lost his father, for a dialogue on September 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mayerson JCC. The two men will share their stories of loss and their unique choice of reconciliation.

Following the presentation will be an interactive session led by JCRC Board Member and communication trainer, Sherri Goren Slovin, about how we in Cincinnati can develop the tools to have productive conversations in the midst of challenging differences.

The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees are asked to register at jewishcincinnati.org/PCFF
